National High School Rodeo Association National Queen Contest Information Gillette, Wyoming - 2011 Dates To Be Determined
One queen from each of the NHSRA's 47 states and provinces will take part in the NHSRA National Queen Contest in Gillette, Wyoming in 2011.
Contestants will be judged in the following categories: Modeling (25 points); Personality (25 points); Appearance (25 points); Two-Minute Speech (50 points); Impromptu Speech (25 points); Horsemanship (25 points for each of two rounds); and Personal Interview (50 points). The Contestants are graded on their performance by six judges.
Horsemanship Dress Code Ground Rule for NHSRA Queen Contest: Horsemanship - Blue denim jeans with a plain white cotton blouse or shirt (no ruffles, accessories or tuxedo shirts).
This year's speech topic is: "Speak about your country, state, or province or on anything with a western theme." 2011 NHSRA Queen Contest Photography and Biography Requirements
We ask that you pay particularly close attention to the deadline for the pictures and biography, so that we can make appropriate arrangements for the program, packets and displaying of the pictures in Gillette. Mail the following WITHIN 5 DAYS OF YOUR STATE/PROVINCE FINALS: -1 color VERTICAL photograph (any size, but no smaller than 3x5, head and shoulders shot only, no full lengths, no crown or banner) -1 color VERTICAL photograph (8 x 10, head and shoulders shot only, no full lengths, no crown or banner) -Queen Contestant Biography

State / Provincial queens must fill-out the biography form and send with the color photos to the NHSRA Office. The biography MUST be typed on typewriter or on computer (you may type directly onto
the PDF) and printed on white paper only. USE THE OFFICIAL NHSRA BIOGRAPHY ONLY AND IT MUST
REMAIN ONE PAGE. No other resume, computer altered biography, additional pages or colored paper
will be accepted. (By computer altered, we mean no artwork, graphic design, tinted background
or fancy fonts. These make the biographies difficult to read and difficult to photocopy for the judges.)
